More or less, you should use cards that state either: "If a card is." or neither if or when. Seems like CDS needs a better description Because Magical Planter doesn't have a "when" or "If" clause meaning, oddly enough, it ends up using the ladder clause. However sending CDS to the graveyard with Magic Planter will activate the affect. So sending CDS to the graveyard with RDDL does not activate the affect since the summoning of the token is technically "chained" to the effect of sending a card to the graveyard, thus skipping the begining of the new chain required for targeting and summoning a monster. Upon further research into a couple different ruling sites, apparently the effect of "When this face up card is sent to the graveyard etc" has to be the start of a chain. Originally posted by Long Bottom Leaf:PFFFFFF ya apparently that makes the difference. I don't understand why this would happen.Īpologies for this being so long but I just wanted to make sure I was clear about what was happening. The only difference in the text is Hieratic to Dragon-Type, and the summoning is done from the banished zone instead of the graveyard. CDS reads: When this face-up card on the field is sent to the graveyard: target one of your banished Dragon-Type monsters special summon it. With RDDL and CDS however, even though the wording is the exact same, the special summon timing of CDS is skipped. The implication being you can send HSA to the graveyard with RDDL, special summon a Hieratic monster, and have a token for tributing etc. RDDL is a continuous spell that allows you to send a face up card on your side of the field to the graveyard to special summon a 0/0 dragon token. HSA reads: When this face-up card on the field is sent to the graveyard: target one Hieratic monster in your graveyard special summon it. 12 monsters main deck, 1 monster extra deck, 4 spell (5 with skill), 5 trapĪctually a fun deck to play, still adjusting the list of course but it takes some games at Plat (just messing around before the grind)Īnways I made this post to point out an interaction between Ruins of Divine Dragon Lords (RDDL) and Castle of Dragon Souls (CDS), and Hieratic Seal from the Ashes (HSA) The deck list is still being worked on but it is something like this:Ģ1 cards total + Dragon Mirror from skill. So since beginning this game, i've spent a lot of time trying to make competent dragon decks, and I have finally come up with a Hieratic dragon (of all things) fusion deck with Chazz's skill Dragonic Fusion. Alright so I love Dragons, always been my favorite archtype in Yu-Gi-Oh.
